Sam DibertAs a native Richmonder, Sam Dibert has always known he wanted to give back to his community. Growing up, Sam said he always had great role models who led the way for his involvement with SCAN. “My parents and grandparents were always dedicated to charitable organizations and helping their community. It was a natural choice for me to become involved and give back.”

Currently Sam is Sales Manager for a family business, Dibert Valve and Fitting Company, and a 2008 graduate from Virginia Tech. He joined the Board of Young Professionals more than 2 years ago and has been an active Board member and dedicated supporter of SCAN’s mission.

“The choice to get involved with SCAN was easy. You can see the impact of the work SCAN does within the community and the lives they touch.” said Sam. “SCAN’s impact does not just stop with the children they serve, but can extend to an entire family, generations to come, and the surrounding community.”

This year, Sam has taken on a leadership role as co-chair for Bourbon Street at the Tuckahoe which will be held on February 21, 2015. This is the 8th year for the Board of Young Professionals fundraising event.

“Our goal is to continue to evolve and grow this event, while keeping the success of years past” said Sam. “Being involved with SCAN, you can see the hard work and dedication each person gives to this mission. The success of this event helps support that work.”

The Bourbon Street event promises to be a night of fun, live music and dancing to benefit SCAN.
