As a Dinner Host for the Progressive Dinner & Auction for multiple years Ellie Caplice had become familiar with SCAN and its mission. This year she joins SCAN as a member of the Board of Directors, and Vice-Chair for the 2016 Progressive Dinner & Auction. In the role of Vice-Chair, Ellie will help the committee organize and plan the event with a goal of raising $170,000 for SCAN’s programs.
“I have been a dinner host for Progressive Dinner for a few years, and it has always been such a fun and easy way to help SCAN. I am excited to see the other side of the Progressive Dinner and help with the planning of the event,” Ellie said.
The 14th Annual Progressive Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday April 30, 2016. Following cocktails, hors d’oeuvre’s and a live auction at a private home, guests will dine at one of the more than 20 dinner homes in Windsor Farms, Westmoreland Place, and the near West End, and later “progress” to the Tuckahoe Woman’s Club for dessert, followed by a spirited silent auction and dancing.
Ellie is joining SCAN’s Board of Directors this year and is excited to meet and get to know her fellow Board Members and SCAN Staff Members.
“I am looking forward to learning everything I can about SCAN, how SCAN’s programs are run, and how they are benefiting the children within our community,” Ellie said. “I love children, and have worked with children through teaching preschool classes, day camps, and volunteering at my children’s school. I am excited to see how I can help others get involved with SCAN’s work.”
