Name: Caroline Orlando
Volunteer Since: May 2017
What do you do when you aren’t volunteering for CASA? When I am not volunteering for CASA, I am spending time with my family, reading, traveling, having lunch with my dad or walking my dog.
Why do you CASA? I CASA because these children deserve an adult in their corner who has nothing at stake except the child’s well-being. And I love spending time with kids, since mine are all big!
Why we think Caroline is awesome: Caroline is one of our treasured bilingual volunteers who has helped to ensure that Richmond CASA is serving Spanish speaking families without the burden of a language barrier. On her first case, her CASA kid spoke very little English but all of her service providers did not speak Spanish. Caroline was able to help provide clarity for the child and bridge the gap that was caused by the language barrier. Thank you for your dedication to Richmond CASA, we appreciate you!
